The warmer weather has started to pick up again, making now the ideal opportunity to give your outdoor space, no matter how large or tiny, some much-needed care.

Looking at your space, thinking about creating different zones, and having in mind what you would like to do in them are the keys to making your outdoor space attractive and inviting.

The following are our best suggestions for setting up your outdoor area:

Think about making minor décor purchases such as pillows and outdoor rugs. Prior to making a purchase, make sure they are UV, water, and mould resistant so they are able to be left outside or be hosed down if they become dirty.

Additionally, fire pits have become more common in outdoor entertaining areas and enhance the atmosphere on the cooler days. For hotter days, an outdoor fan, a drop down blind, or an umbrella instantly transform the space and maintain comfort.

Consider putting together a vertical garden, a herb garden, or buy some pots and fill them with a variety of in season flowers and herbs if you want to add a splash of colour. This inexpensive addition to your garden instantly improves the space and adds great style. Don't forget to update any garden beds that may need mulch, which is cost effective and can protect your plants all year long.

Your lawn will also require some care, so it's crucial to fertilise and water it often. In general, it can take up to two weeks of consistent upkeep to get lawns lush and green.

Outdoor spaces typically require a lot of love, care, and attention, so it's crucial to access every area to determine whether you need to remove any weeds, prune back any trees or plants, or simply give the area a thorough clean.

Consider whether your gathering area is visible to onlookers and, if so, invest in one or more privacy screens to make the area more private, comfortable and secure.

Entertaining can also involve a lot of lighting, which can highlight particular areas and provide some glitz whilst making the area super inviting for guests. Depending on your goals, there are many solutions available, and the majority of them don't require electrical wiring.

Last but not least, add some background music to enhance the scene and ensure you have created a welcoming atmosphere.
